“While the town of Los Gatos embraces its Irish Sister City, Listowel,” says Festival Co-Founder and Director, Catherine Barry, “we are very proud to showcase Ireland’s top contemporary literature and welcome our local writing community to our very first annual festival.”

In addition to the authors, journalists, poets and others who will be participating in the festival, Los Gatos Mayor Barbara Spector, Irish Consul General Phillip Grant and Jimmy Deenihan, Minister for Arts & Heritage, Irish Parliament, 2011-2014 and co-founder of Los Gatos – Listowel Writers’ Week will be in attendance to foster community and welcome audiences.

Enterprise Leadership Conference is looking for committee members

The mission of Enterprise Leadership Conference (ELC) is to enhance leadership skills of outstanding high school juniors through a working introduction to the opportunities, benefits and challenges of establishing a business or providing services in the free enterprise system.


We take 96 high school juniors representing 30+ high schools in San Jose and Los Gatos areas. Segment them into 12, 8-person teams focusing on: Team building, business planning, marketing, finance, HR, leadership and presentation skills.



The committee is made up of members from the San Jose, Los Gatos afternoon and our club.  We meet  the first Tuesday of each month, 7:30am at the Gordon House in San Jose (San Jose Rotary offices).  If you are interested in ELC or would like to learn more about the project please contact Trevor Schwartz our club liaison or Tom Bondi (, current chair.
